John, Sr. was probably married to a Daisy E. Skinner, 02 Jun 1925, in Baker County, Florida. This is based on a record of a marriage between J. T. Maxwell and Daisy E. Skinner in the Florida, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1823-1982. However, there is no additional information regarding this union, so Miriam Estella Hays is identified as "Wife #1". As far as is known, J. T. and Daisy had no children.
Elizabeth (wife #2) had a daughter, Janice Melcher, with her first husband. Janice was enumerated as John, Sr.'s step-daughter in 1950, but she is not included in the Family Table since she is not John's biological child.
