IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I Joseph Elicott in Charles Town in the Sd. [said] Province Sentl.[?] Being very Sick & weak of body but of Sound & Perfect mind & memory Blessed for it but Considering the uncertainty of This Transitory Life & That all flesh Must yield unto Death when it Shall Please God to Call Do make and Put this my last Will & Testamt [Testament] in writing revoaking [sic] & making void all former & other will or Wills by me heretofore made or declared to be made Either by word or writing & this is to be deemed as my last will & Testamt. and no other ----------

FIRST and principally I Commend my Soul to Almighty God who Gave it & my Body to the Earth from Whence it was Taken to be decently Buried by my Executrix & Executor hereafter Named and Now as to the worldly Estate as it has Pleased God to bless me withal [sic] I Give and Dispose of in Maner [sic] and forms following vizt.

ITEM I Give devise & bequeath unto my Loving brother John Chapman one mourning Gold Ring ----------

ITEM I Give Devise & bequeath unto Loving Sister Rebecca Chapman wife of John Chapman one Gold Ring ----------

ITEM I Give Devise & Bequeath unto my Brother Rouland Story one mourning Gold Ring ----------

ITEM I Give devise & bequeath unto my Loving Sister Elizabeth Story Wife of Rouland Sory [sic: Story] one mourning Gold Ring ----------

ITEM I Give Devise & Bequeat [sic] unto my Loving wife Mary Elicott all the rest & residue & rest of my Estate both reall [sic] & Personall [sic] what nature Kind or Quallity Soever Either in in [sic] this Province or Else where to have hold & Dispose of the Same from Time to Time as She Shall Think fitt All & Every The sd. Rest & residue of my reale and Personal Estate what Nature kind or Quality soever or wheresoever unto my sd. Loving wife Mary Elicott Her heirs Execcurs. [Executors] & assigns to her and their own Propper [sic] usses Benifitt & Behoof for ever ----------

AND Lastly I Joseph Elicott do make ordain nominate & appoint my sd. Wife Mary Elicott and my very Good friend Robert Tradd Executrix & Executr. [Executor] of this my Last will and Testamt.

IN WITNESS whereof I the sd. Joseph Elicott have hereunto Set my hand and Seal This Eleventh day of January In the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred & Eleven [11 Jan 1711] ----------

Recorded That on the 26th day of May 1714 [26 May 1714] Personally appeared before me Anne Mills one of The Evidences to the within Will and that also on this Tenth Day of Septembr. 1715 [10 Sep 1715] Personally appeared John Cook one of the Evidences to the Sd. Will who being Severally Sworn on the Holy Evangelists Did Declare that Each of them was present & Did Se [see] the Testator Joseph Elicott Sign Seal Publish and Declare the wth. in [within] instrumt. [instrument] of writing as his last Will and Testament and that George Beadon [Bedon] subscribed as Evidence to the same and that at the Time of his so doing he was to the best of the Depont. [Deponent's] Knowledge in Pfect. [Perfect] mind & Memory
