He was stationed at Camp Pollard (Tattnall) during the Civil War. He was first Sheriff of Escambia County, was tax-collector, Justice of the Peace and Coroner. Lived all his adult life in Pollard and is buried there. I am seeking his wife's family from Alabama and John's brothers and sisters.
