He married Elizabeth MOORE and migrated to Monroe County, Alabama. Their first child was born in 1824. Mary M. HELTON married Chapman I. CREIGHTON in Monroe County, 1844; Rebecca HELTON,b. 1826 was married in Monroe County to Isaac G. Maxwell in 1848; William HELTON,b. 1828 married Mariam GRAHAM in Monroe County in 1852;Jeremiah HELTON,b. 1829 married Martha M. SAWYER in Monroe County in 1857;Isaac M HELTON,b. 1831 married Nancy Mae MCKENZIE in Monroe County in 1858;James M. HELTON,b.1837 married Rebecca J. He was stationed at Camp Pollard (Tattnall) during the Civil War. He was first Sheriff of Escambia County, was tax-collector, Justice of the Peace and Coroner. Lived all his adult life in Pollard and is buried there. I am seeking his wife's family from Alabama and John's brothers and sisters.
