From unidentified newspaper article:
Frank Reeves, the fifteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Reeves was run over about 7:30 o'clock Tuesday night, by a Ford truck, resulting in injuries from which he died about midnight. He was conscious until a short time before death relieved him of his suffering. Immediately after the accident he was carried to the office of Dr. C. H. Willis in the Collier building, where he had every possible attention from Drs. C. H.Willis and C. E. Suggs. They found several ribs broken, his lungs punctured and a number of other bruises on his body. There was little that they could do for him, except to relieve him of the pain. He was carried home some time after the accident, where he died shortly thereafter.
Frank had decided to be one of a party of young people who were to go to Griffin that evening to visit the skating rink. He expected to go in the car with Mr. Frank Myers, but his car being loaded, Frank went hurriedly up Forsyth street, where the Ford truck had gone after other members of the party. He was fearful of being left and when he approached the car it was starting off. He attempted to jump aboard, thinking to land on the running board, whereas the truck had no running board on it and his feet landed under the car, the rear wheel pulling him under. The rear wheel ran over his body, the heavy truck producing such injuries that it was impossible to save his life, notwithstanding his companions and the physicians rendered him every possible assistance. The funeral will occur today (Thursday) and will be conducted by his pastor, Rev. Frank Quillian, of the First Methodist Church.
