HARRY MAXWELL (GREENVILLE, Ala.)--Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Maxwell were held yesterday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Pearl Belser. The Rev E. A. Childs conducted the services. Interment was made in Magnolia Cemetery. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Lillie Dunklin and W. Turner Dunklin, Sr., of this city. Her home was at Perry, Fla. Surviving are her husband, four sons, Milner Maxwell, Perry, Fla.; J. T. Maxwell, Pittsburg [sic]; Jack Maxwell, Rochester, N. Y., and Harry Maxwell, Jr. of New York City; one brother, W. T. Dunklin, Greenville, and four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Belser, Greenville; Mrs. D. D. Metcalf, Birmingham; Mrs. D. S. Lightcap, Columbiana; Mrs. Clara Scott, Greenville, and Mrs. Alex Heise, Columbia, S. C. |

Maxwell Dies in Korea, Victim of Polio SCOTTDALE, July 7. – The Secretary of the Amy has advised Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Maxwell of 754 Hill street, Pittsburgh, that their son,Private Ronald H. Maxwell, 20, died in Korea on June 29 as a result of acute anterior poliomyelitis. He entered the service October 20, 1953, and received his training at Camp Pickett, Va., and Fort Eustis, Va., leaving for Korea April 30, last. He was in Pusan, Korea, for one month and then went to Heunde [sic].He served with Company C, 724th Division. He was a diesel operator. When the parents were first advised of the serious illness of their son, the Army’s telegram referred to his ailment as meningoencephalitis and pneumonia. He died in the 21st Station Hospital. No word has been received as yet as to the disposition of the remains. |
