Obituary: Gloria Ann Norman Young

QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — Gloria Ann Norman Young, 80, formerly of Moultrie, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, in Chandler, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31, at Baker Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating assisted by the Rev. Andy Cashwell. Burial will follow at Baker/Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Ronald Norman, Randell Norman, Rex Norman, Michael Norman, Gerald Young Jr. and Ian Hester serving as pallbearers.

Born Sept. 17, 1925, in Colquitt County, she was the daughter of the late Joel Ansel Norman and Bessie Newbern Norman. She was a retired school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Horace Norman, Charles Norman, Miles Norman and Lawrence Norman; and sisters, Ada Hancock, Ellen Dysart and Lula Thompkins.

Survivors include sons, Gerald Wayne Young and wife Janet of New Town, Pa., and Danny Young and wife Kathy of Queen Creek, Ariz.; daughter, Patricia Ann Young of Connecticut; brothers, Preston Norman and wife Avis of Moultrie and J.A. Norman and wife Bama of Moultrie; five grandchildren, Gerald Wayne Young and wife Tracee of Bonita Springs, Fla., Cari McCormick and husband Kevin and Naomi Young of Queen Creek, Ariz., Cynthia Boccus and husband Michael of Nassau, Bahamas, and Vanessa Martin of Orlando, Fla.; four great-grandchildren, Cole Michael McCormick, Hannah McCormick, Laurran McCormick of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Trent Young of Bonita Springs, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Doris Norman of Omega, Olga Norman of Macon and Blanche Norman of Omega.

Visitation will be tonight 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
