Obituary: Mary Rebecca Bailey

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Mary Rebecca Bailey, 91, died July 1, 2005. She was born in Moultrie, Ga., to the late Jeremiah F. and Willie F. Norman. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Kempsville Baptist Church in Virginia Beach. Family members said she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all her family. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Otis Earl Bailey.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Lynelle Brooks and husband Ted Gordon of Virginia Beach; a sister, Doris Norman Abbott and husband Larue of Moultrie; two grandchildren, Gordon Micah Brooks and wife Becky of Chesapeake, Va., and Belinda Brooks and husband Chuck Coker of Suffolk, Va.; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Martin and Samantha Lynelle Martin of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Roeselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
