Birth of a daughter

Note: In the Parke-Gildersleeve book, the author lists Sarah as the first child of Moses Norman and (probably) Rebecca Sumner, but he doesn't give a birth date for her. Their second child, Joseph Norman, was born probably by 1710, so the same would be true for Sarah Norman. We suppose 1708 as a reasonable guess for the year of her birth. |

Marriage of a daughter
|
FAM:EVEN:_PRIM: Y Note: We suppose Sarah was born about 1708 (see note for her birth date), which would make her 16 years old in 1724. Before her husband died in between 14 Nov 1732 and 16 Feb 1732/3, she gave birth to (at least) 5 children, all of whom were enumerated as minors in her husband's will dated 14 Nov 1732. Assuming one child born every 2 years, we derive that she married Job Chamberline about 1723-1725. |
Death of a daughter
|
Note: Sarah was sworn in as executor of her late husband's estate on 06 Mar 1732/3; thus, she died after that date. |
Marriage of a son
|
FAM:EVEN:_PRIM: Y Note: The will of Major Richard Bedon, dated 03 Oct 1738, mentions "my Son-in-law John Norman," so John and Elizabeth were married prior to this date. |

Address: St. James Parish Note: On 12 Aug 1740, Moses Norman sold 735 acres of land to James Martin. On 05 Mar 1740/1, a notice in the newspaper announced his estate was in probate. Thus he must have died between these two dates. James Martin's will of 04 Feb 1746/7 mentions "Moses Norman, deceased". On 12 Aug 1740, Moses Norman sold 735 acres of land to James Martin. Note: N. Grier Parke, II, in his book, "The Ancestry of Rev. Nathan Grier Parke and his wife Ann Elizabeth Gildersleeve," presents a compelling argument why Moses Norman's wife is Rebecca Sumner, daughter of Increase Sumner. Reference that book, pages 92--98, but especially pages 94 & 95. The crux of the argument is that the following are factually known: N. Grier Parke, II, in his book, "The Ancestry of Rev.
